Inspired originally in the medieval tapestry series now reffered to as The Lady and the Unicorn, these two large paintings show the painted subjects surrounded by a fantastic world made out of real plants and owers. As time goes by, all the real plants slowly lose their color and transform the original image.
One big theme is found in the symbolism of hope -a feeling that focuses on the future- in relation to the passing of time. The first tapestry shows the unicorn as an artice of modern times, the other shows pregnancy and creation. Both compositions rely on direct symbolism, although the conceptual core relies in the presence of real-life decay.
